I network a lot with professionals in the field, but also love participating in various studies. However, I prefer participating in ASD research because, people doing non-ASD research tend to want only participants who are as neurologically typical as possible (i.e. no diagnoses) and I don't want to mess up people's results.
I am only a third-year student, but my research interests also lie in the ASD field. Do you think it's okay for me to participate in research done by people who I might have a chance to professionally collaborate with in the future? Could this possibly get in the way of my professional career?
P.S. I strictly want to participate in psych research because I like getting a hands-on experience of the research methods.
