Does anyone else feel as though they are just a novelty item for people to use and then just cast asunder?

I don't in any way, shape or form feel bitter and twisted but I have recently come to the realization that if I wish to play a part in the world then this is the way I will be treated. I cannot change my childlike disposition and my naivety and I shall always remain innocent but does this mean that I should be treated like a toy?

I kind of feel this way when I think I've been wronged in some way.

Not all people are the way you describe, though I've met plenty myself who are. I make a point of avoiding that type, and when I can't, I've learned to defend myself.

I suppose I do set myself up for it, but I just can't help it.

I just accepted that I have very little value and am trying to learn to live without friends.

My problems usually seem to occur whenever I try to find a boyfriend if I'm completely honest.

Can you depersonalise at the time what you're asked to do and ask if anyone else would put up with what you're asked to do under similar circumstances.

Well to be honest I wasn't really looking for the last one but I met him in the local social club. he seemed really nice and respectable to me and he was texting me every day and then after 3 weeks we had sex and then he just dumped me by text and now I feel like a novelty item. I'll be ok I suppose but I just don't want to become bitter and twisted towards men because I know they're not all like that.

Babybird, have you considered looking for men in a different type of place? Such as churches, service clubs, libraries, etc.? The Internet is also a good place to look, provided the person you find isn't too geographically removed from you. Again, not all people are the way you describe, though plenty are.

What I'm getting at is that the people who make fun of us usually have their own problems, mainly being on the wrong side of the Bell Curve.

I suppose it was 50/50 really and probably the fact that I'm s**t at relationships :)

It was a book that came out about twenty years ago. The Bell Curve refers to the distribution of intelligence. Intelligence can be plotted as an almost perfect bell curve, with the left side being low intelligence.
