My old job coach upon meeting me for the first time said "did you need a carer with you on the train today" of course I used public transport all the time on my own and for me its fairly easy to use.

I was talking with my current job coach about my ex job coaches comments and he said "upon meeting people for the first time we make assumptions about people"

If you could take a wild guess what type of behaviour would give of the impression that someone with Asperger's would need a carer with them when using public transport etc....?

I often have wondered if my Asperger's is more obvious than I think :?

I don't really know what to tell you with what you have provided, not all people on the spectrum act the same although we have a lot of similar characteristics, just like neurotypicals.
Maybe how you were dressed, how you greeted them and what kind of questions you were asked and how you responded to them would help?
I think most of us have moderate stress in social situations but we don't all respond the same and some of us consciously or subconsciously learn to maintain a certain type of composure with body language or ready ourselves for certain questions or memorize certain things to initiate mindless small talk..etc. Still that was kind of a dickish thing for them to ask, were they previously aware you have aspergers and maybe ignorant to it or were they just throwing that out there randomly on what they observed of you?

I shouted and got angry with my job coach when she made those remarks. Not exactly helping myself by losing my temper though :(

Upon first meeting her I saw the lady sitting down in a restaurant a few feet away with a laptop but I did not approach her because I was not sure if it was the right person (even though I had a strong hunch that it was). I stood there for a few mins wondering if it was the job coach and then she made eye contact, smiled and nodded her head to confirm it was her.

Maybe that's why she assumed I needed a carer?

@Jamesy: Was your first job coach session by appointment or by drop-in? If appointment, who set it up? Is it possible that the first job coach already knew that you are an Aspie?

If the first job coach already knew, then it is likely that he or she started out with the first question on a "standard" questionnaire, and had no intention of insulting you.

Yeah she knew I had Asperger's

THAT is what made it "obvious".
