I enjoyed reading through the comic! The drawings were good too.

I totally related to that 100 percent. That is exactly what I am like in social situations. I try to make conversation with people, but I feel to shy to, and I worry that nobody will listen to me or might get creeped out if I just go up to them, and people can see I'm shy just by my body language so it's like they automatically tune me out so I don't get a chance. Then I start feeling bored and just want to go home.

Noise and lights don't make me want to go home. It's just the way I'm so shy and feel like a fish out of water. And I don't like drinking alcohol, so that is not a solution.

I also related to the woman when she was at home, and had a bath, got something to eat, went on her laptop, read a book in the peace and quiet (although I don't read) then went to bed.

If I didn't have all these socially guilty feelings of not giving into peer pressure, I would be happy to just sit at home, and only socialise in ways I feel comfortable, like meeting friends in the daytime and having lunch with them or going shopping or cinema, etc. I just don't do parties.

But I don't see it as a problem of being an introvert but of being socially rejected. The girl did try to mingle and make conversation at the party with others that were also mingling and making conversation. She was no different from them in THAT sense. The difference was in that she was getting rejected. THAT's why she left.

I'm a big extrovert, yet the comic fits me totally.

Am I wrong?

When I read it, it seemed to me as if she wasn't just introverted, but also autistic to some degree or has traits. I know introverted NTs and they're just not like that. I do recognize myself in her in a lot of ways, the comic shows well how pointless a lot of situational social interaction can be.

That's a part of my view on it. Chatting for the sake of it, "being social" while in fact it doesn't bring you much (in terms of emotional or even social satisfaction, you just want to leave)

Also, how you can feel calm and serene in a quiet environment, all on your own, while a lot of people need stimulation, noise and other people.

I loved the drawings in the comic That's exactly how I'm like at parties.

I can totally relate to that. That's exactly how I am whenever I have to go socialize. I just don't understand how people can make small talk with each other, especially with all of the other stuff going on.

The comic is beautifully drawn. I can relate to some of what is in the comic. When I am at special events, I tend to be a little distant sometimes, as I have no idea what subject to come up with to talk about.

I can definitely relate to this. The key differences are that I make less eye contact, and until very recently I wouldn't really attempt to make small talk because I didn't know I was supposed to.

I like it. And it makes the point that introversion doesn't mean that you're scared of other people; it's just... you want small groups, quiet times, close friends.

I'd like to remind all the other introverts here that introversion is cool and don't ever be ashamed of it! The world needs all sorts of people. And if you do suffer from social anxiety in addition to it, that is a solvable problem, and you don't have to be a party animal to solve it.

I like the comic.

I am reminded how much it frustrates me when people take me to a party and then leave me to fend for myself. The last time that happened I just took a nap in a corner until another friend introduced me to someone who was a big fan of stuff I had written, and the party became non-boring for me.

I love hand drawn comics and used to collect those self published, hand drawn comics or zines (the ones that looked like they were put together at Kinkos) back in the day. This reminded me of that.
