Pick-up lines sound more like jokes?

So I know Spectrumites tend to interpret social things differently from normal. Also that Spectrumites may not romance the same way or be as interested in romance in general. However, does anyone else here find that pick-up lines sound more like jokes than, well, flattery?

I'm guessing that pick-up lines normally work at least to some extent (at least if it's a decent line), otherwise they probably wouldn't be so pervasive. However, I find that a good pick-up line tends to trigger a good, healthy laugh. A bad pick-up line sounds like an unfunny joke.

Admittedly, I feel kind of bad for anyone who will try a good pick-up line on me because I'm afraid they'll think I find their attempt pathetic, or that they're not the type of guy I'd like to date. It hasn't happened yet, but still...

I never did master the pick up line. My future wife just took pity on me when I called her number and said "Please" Please" go on a date with me

"Heeeey"

But in all seriousness if anyone uses the lame "Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?" one with me i will respond "yes quite a lot"

Yes I can relate to this and have actually laughed at people. It's reassuring to know I'm not odd as people have called me in the past. I also have people trying to chat me up all the time and me saying I'm not interested doesn't seem to deter them at all!

pick up lines ARe jokes..

"Proboscis, report to bridge" always works wonders for me.

they are meant to be jokes most of the time, you use them to spark a conversation. opening with a joke is a easy way to start a conversation NTs do it all the time

I'm pretty certain they aren't all supposed to be jokes. I have also on a few occasions had people straight out all me for sex which is weird. Someone who is much older than me who I know from the allotment once said "so when are we going to make love?" To which I burst out laughing and said "never!" He looked offended.
