An IVRU is where you're on the phone and have automated selections to make that you do either by keypad or by voice. I hate IVRU's that make you speak by voice. I hate them! It is so irritating to have to speak by voice on those! I prefer to either talk to a live person or to be able to just press options on the keypad.

I hate that too and sometimes the programs don't understand me and try to repeat me " you said -----, is that correct" and they are way off and I have to say "no" and start over.

Yeah. The technology just isn't there yet. Don't put those things in until they actually work properly.

Ditto. Thankfully, most of the ones I encounter have the "press button" option, which I always use instead.

@Ettina: quite true. Voice recognition technology still isn't what it should be.
