Ok so what do you think counts as stimming? Obviously people do have ticks and such so how do we define the difference?

Sometimes I will pace and I think that may be stimming but apparently "normal" people do that too.

What about smoking? If you smoke is it stimming to smoke say two cigarettes in a row or more - assuming you don't usually smoke that fast?

Sometimes I rest my hand on my cheek or grip my chin when thinking.. can that be stimming?

Alrite thanks for reading :-)

Yes that's roughly what I thought, that and gestures with hands but I know some people do that as well, not sure how you'd guage when it's stimming or not

Rocking? That must definately be stimming? Does everyone do that maybe? Obviously I'm not talking about someone holding their gut and rocking cause that probably shows instability or something most times.

If you do "it" even though you suspect people around you don't like it or will think poorly of you, but cannot stop, it's probably a stim.

Many aspies rock when having to calm themselves. Many NT´s do too.
Many aspie children flap hands in exitement. Some NT children do it too.
Many aspies touch their face when concerned. Many NT´s do too.
Many aspies wiggle their fingers and rub hands in order to get rid of energy. Many NT´s do too.

Many NT´s klick their ballpencils. Many aspies do it too.
Many NT´s tap their restless feet under the table. Many aspies do it too.
Many NT´s move their legs repetetively when sitting still. Many aspies do it too.
Many NT´s fidgit on their nails and hair. Many aspies do it too.

There is the "aspie-stim" for you.
