I have read a bit of conspiracy theories and opinions regarding autism(mostly because I find these things highly amusing  ), and I have discovered that some people believe that we are either the result of humans being crossbread with dolphins, aliens doing trial and error experiments in creating alien-human hybrids, aliens that have "implanted" human children so they can upload their consciousness into them in order to experience what it is to be human or that we are a new step in evolution as a result of radiation from electronic devices which will cause humans to evolve into autisic, sterile grey aliens(think Area 51) that travels back in time in order to take genetic material from fertile present day humans in order to resolve their sterility problems.
Do you(the person that reads this) find it offensive or flattering that these guys find us so mysterious that they think that those explanations has to be true?

I find any offensive that tries to separate me from being 100 percent human. I am not cross-breeded with a dolphin, and I am not made by aliens. I am a human, made by two humans (by parents), and I just happen to be born with a slightly different brain wiring. Now is that too much to take in?

Neither. I don't think these ideas reflect on us at all -- the people who come up with them probaby come up with similar kinds of ideas about all sorts of things.

Considering some of the other malarkey fringe theorists come up with, I wouldn't take this sort of thing seriously. There are much more harmful ideas about ASD that are actually accepted by the mainstream; by comparison, this almost comes off as satire.

I put other because aliens are awesome but some of those theories are creepy. And also I don't care too much.

Neither flattering nor offensive as it is so surreal that I can only laugh at it really.

However it would explain my attraction to dolphins... I better stop here before it gets awkward.

Amusement as you said may be the best word for it

It did supposedly also involve Atlantis and reptilian warlocks.

That is hilarious.
But the most hilarious one of them all is the theory that vaccines are to blame for autism. It's funny because so many people actually took it seriously.

But regarding the things you've posted: I think it's actually kind of flattering, because it shows how these people don't see autism as "just another disorder". They actually seek a deeper meaning behind it. Pretty cute.

It is offensive that people care so much about the cause and not things to help us in our lives.

The conspiracy theories are funny in how rediculous they are though.

Some people just have this crazy-ass delusional science fiction world view, and so for any mysterious or controversial phenomena, they have to create their own crazy-ass explanation to fit it in that world view.
I know a guy like that. And just saying, he does all kinds of drugs...
