I have had some episodes of paralysis and I am wondering if anyone else has had them too. I can remember three distinct ones but there may have been more than three. These are different from fear paralysis which I have also had a lot.

One time I really remember clearly was at camp. They always happen when I am laying down. I was resting on my bed and for no apparent reason I become completely paralyzed for at least an hour, maybe longer. I could see but I could not move. I tried screaming for help but no sound could come out. When I came to, I noticed a really strange mark on my abdomen. I thought maybe spider had bitten me so I went to the clinic and they told me that they had never seen anything like that mark before, They gave me a coritzone shot and I was fine after that.

The second and third time were much later. like a year later and they were not spaced close to each other either. Once was when I was babysitting some kids for a week. I think I was really tired from that. But I lay down to rest and I became paralyzed again for a little over an hour. Same scenario as the first time but without any marks on my body. I can't remember the specifics of the third time.

Has anyone else had this kind of experience?

Sounds like you're experiencing sleep paralysis.

I have never heard of that. I will look it up.

Update, I just looked it up on Wikipedia. That definitely sounds like what I had. I have to learn about it more. I wonder if it is part of my being Aspie since it said it can be related to anxiety disorders.

Thanks!
