Condolezza Rice + AS

My Mum reckons she read that Condolezza Rice has Asperger's, I think she must have read that incorrectly. Anyone else read this?

She doesn't seem to me your typical Asp. but I could be wrong.

No way. To get that high in politics, you have to have (among other things) uber-good social and communication skills. That pretty much precludes anyone with AS.

Then again, Calvin Coolidge got really high in politics and he definitely had some AS characteristics.

Could be, but remember there was no TV or internet in those days. So politicians didn't have to do anything 'interactive' like interviews, debates, talk shows, etc.

I don't know, that may be to the advantage of an Aspie...with the advent of the current media, candidates and politicians can do a lot of communicating through scripted TV commercials, websites, and have the luxury of redoing anything they don't like.

In contrast, in the 1920's, there was none of that, so virtually all communication was face to face. I could have an easier time recording something, or even communicating electronically (like now for example :) ) than talking directly to someone. And if I go off on a rant, they could just edit that out.
