Do aspies have a unique sense of humor? My boss had a birthday and staff gave him cards. I did not buy him one, I made it! I used black construction paper. The cover said," My sincere sympathy." You open the card and it said," on being one year closer to death." My boss loved it!
Aspies (in my honest opinion) have a more direct (and therefore more intense humor ). Instead of being overly concerned with being socially appropriate we should be ourselves and let the chips fall where they will. One will be surprised how liberating that is and how people appreciate bold honesty.

I believe we do have a special and quirky sense of humour.
Thankfully, some actors, directors and writers happen to be aspies, so there is lots of stuff out there that we can relate to.
As you say, we like more direct humour, we also tend to like more physical humour, wordplay, and have a penchant for the ridiculous.
BTW, love your video, if only you'd done it in a clown suit!

Hi wittgenstein,

When I first began my journey of discovery, regarding my own diagnosis of AS, I wrongly believed, that I couldnt have Aspergers Syndrome, because I do have a very good sense of humour. How wrong I was.

I believe, culture, how we are brought up and life-coping strategies can all feed in to how a person uses humour to get by.

I know my own sense of humour has rescued me on many occasions, throughout life, by defusing intense emotions Ive experienced. It doesnt always work, but knowing its there is reassuring :)
