Anybody ever listen to the radio? If so whats your station/format?

My life is 98% radio which is why I am asking.

Living on campus in the dorms absolutlely kills radio reception.

Of the stations I can pick that I would want to listen to are

105.7 WAPL Appleton
102.3 WAUH Wautoma

And then there's the campus radio station 90.3 FM, but the transmitter is on top of the A/C south building which is two blocks from my dorm so that dosen't really count

Due to tall buildings in San Francisco,
most stations have to be strong, so
scratch college, and low budget stations.

If possible(on a good day) I will listen
to KDFC(Classical Station-Digital).

When I forget to change the CDs in my car (or if I just fancy listening to the radio as occasionally happens), I generally listen to Radio 4, Radio 5 or Talk Sport depending on my mood - I despise music radio with every fibre of my being, and won't have it on in my car under any circumstances.....

WAPL is HUGE. I get it down here 140 miles south a lot during DX. 100,000 watts. One of the best signals in the state. I heard that Retro 102.3 changed the playlist a tad bit. I should probably check it out next time I am in the area.

There's nothing worth listening to but 80's stations in Florida. So I prefer Internet Radio techno stations when I'm not listening to my own music.

I never listen to music on the radio, but I listen to AM talk radio every day. In Los Angeles, on KFI 640 I listen to John & Ken and John Ziegler.

On XTRA Sports 570 I occasionally listen to Phil Hendrie. I used to listen to Hendrie every night before Clear Channel switched his show to XTRA Sports.

Are there any other Hendrie fans here?

They play mostly 70's and 80's soft rock music. Their only a 6Kw station so living in the dorm, I have to hang my walkman in front of my window to pick it up.

The music bed they use for weather is really cool!

I find that the early 70's sound, Carpenter's-
Moody Blues-Frank Sinatra(later 60's-70's),
Neil Diamond, intriguing. Are some of these
you might hear on this 70's & 80's soft rock
6kw station?

i don't listen to music radio because i want to choose the music myself.

i don't listen to talk radio because most callers are so stupid they just piss me off.

i love news radio and usually listen to Boston's WBZ (until it changes to a talk format at 8 PM)

BTW, here is a webpage that allows you to listen to any of 12 all-news stations from around the country: https://www.radiomat.com/

I am the Program Director for a Soft Rock station designed mainly to appeal to women. I also do the morning show. Being an aspie is of tremendous benefit to my career in many ways and a hinderance in a few others.

Phil Hendrie is an awesome talent and has taken radio to new levels with his unique characters and presentation.

When I am not working I prefer to listen to jam bands, world beat, jazz, chill music and other type tunes you don't always hear on the radio.

Q104.3 FM - Classic Rock! My mom and stepdad hooked me onto it. Ever since then, classic rock has been my favorite musical genre. :D

I never listen to the radio, because the type of music I listen to isn't played on the radio. At least it isn't in the United States. When my mom or dad are driving my somewhere, I just listen to one of my CDs.

I don't listen to the radio much because of the commercials and the mainstream music.
