When you are talking or listening to somebody in a room for a number of minutes do you imagine yourself in a different scenery?
For example, does this scenery compose of a town or a place you have visited?

I always imagine myself being in a town or place that I have visited, I don't choose to imagine this scenery yet my mind shows a place that I have visited and displays it like a static photograph.
When I am talking or listening to the person I feel as though I am in this town that I imagining and the person I am talking also blends in with this imagination, it really is a bewildering experiece and sends me drifting off from the place I am standing, it is cinematic virtual relality at it's best..

Sometimes the scenery changes like a slideshow and I am suddenly in different town, the quality of the scenery that I am imagining is very realistic but is difficult to describe because it is like daydreaming and being concious enough to work and concentrate on the person or subject I am talking about.

Can anybody relate to this?

Do NT's experiece this or is it something that only unique people like us can experience?

Well, I am probably AS, but I DO know precisely what you are talking about! Just last night I told someone(Who is ALSO AS BTW) I can basically live 2 lives simultaneously. One in the real world, and the other as you described.

I'm not sure whether my question was understood properly.

Let me explain further.....

When you are talking/listening to somebody you are aware of the person you are talking to and the room and environment you are in, but when I talk/listen sometimes I no longer become aware of the room/environment and I imagine being in a particular street in a town I have visited or familiar with. This image that my mind creates is a static image like a photograph and I begin to imagine that I am in that scene whilst still listening/talking to the person.

When this experience does happen, like today, I cannot help but feel that I am alone is this phenomenon, and that no one (NT's) or perhaps the exception of a few AS's can experience this..

I need answers...........

Can anybody relate to this experience?

There have been times when I basically did things as you. Almost like the part on battlestar gallactica with baltar on the base star. (He was in a hallway, talking to a cylon, and viewed it as a forest or some such.) Usually it is just something else though. Outside of the statements triggering a nostalgic, enjoyable, or relevant memory, I don't have it exactly as you do. ALSO, the two can seem very real, but I know they aren't, if you know what I mean.
