Does anyone out there know how a person can get their official paperwork without health insurance? (and no $$$?) I got a "probably Asperger's) diagnosis from a neurologist 6 years ago but want/need to make it official now. However, I don't have any insurance right now and no cash to go back to the neurologist. I know there are a number of state and local agencies that can help. (live in MA) I assume many of you are in the same boat as me (Aspergers preventing you from getting a college degree and ending up inhabiting a lowly spot in the workplace) How have some of you gotten it done on meager resources? Thanks!

I live in Vt. & went to local clinic that offered (a limited number of) free walk-in visits during certain hours. This was while I was waiting approval for Medicaid (bc. I was poor & in midst of divorce), then that paid for subsequent counseling visits-which led me to getting dx'd w/AS. My intent was to get financial & emotional help, had no idea I'd end up w/ new dx I'd never heard of. That was 3 years ago, almost a year later my application for SSI was approved-on 3rd attempt. I've never been able to work/earn a living, but SSI doesn't pay very much-and that's a fact.
