Why do teachers have show "emotion" in their voice

Certian people's voiced have always annoyed me. Sorry southerners, and boys just entering puberity. I could not watch this one video that was supposed to help me in math because I could not stand the instructer's voice. He was not from the South or a boy just entering puberity either. He was one of those people who try to make the lesson sound "intresting". My mother says teachers have to do that. Why? My ideal teacher would be the dude from the Wonder Years. Okay maybe not he makes it sound "boring" but you get my point I hope. When I am trying to learn something it's best if the speaker show no emotion what so ever. My mother says people can't do that. Then how come she says I sounded like a robot as a kid.

When I was young, a typical question was: "What do you think of that?"
Then it morphed into: "How do you feel about that?"
This pi**ed me off and still does.
Never cared how anyone felt about it,
Feelings are okay: they can be the annunciator lamps on the panel,
but when you see one flashing, it is time to think about the issue.

For what it is worth.... Boys don't like it EITHER! It is a rite of passage, a sign of growth. Almost like girls with their periods.

YEAH, I know what you mean about teachers. YUCK! I have the same problem with people over PAs!

Some voices really do annoy me, yet I cannot name a specific reason why. I suppose it's like colors; some I like much more than others.
