Hmm....sometimes I wonder if I EVER felt joyous....
But yes, there are a few things that still make me happy, like --
My dog greeting me at the car when I get home from work. She acts like I'm the absolute love of her life. In reality, she's probably just hungry and wants her tummy scratched.
Rainbows -- I know it sounds sappy, but it's true. I love seeing rainbows, and will stare at then as long as they're visible and in my line of sight.
Ditto beautiful sunsets.
A wonderful meal at one of my favorite restaurants.
The first really cold front of the autumn. Summer is so unbearable here in Texas, and seems as though it will never end. When the cold wind starts whipping and the cold rain starts falling, I'll stand in the middle of it, facing into the wind, the rain splashing my face, and feeling like I can finally breathe again.
Spending time with my friends. Weird for an Aspie, right? I don't have many, but the ones I have are as good as gold. I like to say that they are "good for my soul". Spending time with most people annoys me and generally wears me down. But with these few people, I come away from the encounter feeling better about the world.
Wandering around bookstores. They're becoming fewer and farther between, alas...
A shower, clean sheets and a special someone after a day at the beach.
EDIT: Oh jeez! How could I have made this list and left out bluegrass music!?! Specifically, live bluegrass at outdoor venues, such as music festivals. I could spend weeks in a row at bluegrass festivals.
