You don't look like you have Asperger's.

You're using Autism as an excuse to not do____________
Pain is just an excuse to manipulate people (as in to get them to turn their music down or off)

''Stop moaning'' - when I'm trying to express my feelings over something that is making me feel anxious or agitated.

''You're like a 5-year-old''

''Can you just be quiet for a few minutes?''

No, there is nothing wrong with wanting to know where the saying comes from. I'd want to know the answer to that too.

"Don't you ever think of anyone besides yourself?" (Almost always, but not in the way they mean, apparently.)

"How can someone so smart be so stupid?"

"Just don't worry about it. There's no reason to worry right now."

"What's wrong?"/"Smile."/"Cheer up." (Said when I'm feeling perfectly fine).

"Just get over it and stop acting that way."

"You need to be around family." (They make it sound like I might keel over if I don't come to the next family gathering).

"You need to get out more, you'll feel better." (I feel fine, thank you).

You need to get out there and be social. (Said to me at a family gathering) Funny thing is I am pretty good at being social for an Aspie anyway and I actually enjoy it when I have the energy. But that day I was totally out of energy and was laying on the couch with a splitting migraine and could barely move.

"Everyone's a little bit autistic!" (I hate this as it trivialises what life on the spectrum is actually like!"

"Have a drink-it will give you more confidence!"

"How can you not like clubbing?" (Because nightclubs stink and are horrendously noisy and over crowded!)

"You just need to talk more!"

"Anxiety's normal". (Well, yes, in certain situations, it is but getting so anxious that you bite and chew your own skin and hit yourself on the head is not normal and I know that so please don't trivialise it).

NO, the worst is this. When you're having a (usually somewhat) normal conversation, and then you mention you're autistic. THen the other person makes a face or gesture, and all of a sudden they use smaller words and sometimes even streeetch out sommmme worrrds like I'm an idiot. The conversation automatically resets, and any intelligent things I previously said were obviously a fluke

you COULD play around with such folk, as in when they start baby talking you even more baby talk back to them to see how far it will go
