Sometimes, I wonder to myself, am I really cursed? Some signs:
1) My parents henpeck me (Mostly for no good reason or my Aspie tendencies, I am a good listener, even if I may screw up at times like Homer Simpson [and no, don't tell me how he is well-liked, he has gotten in trouble once in a while for his actions]).
2) I was born 4/13, and the two numbers mean bad luck (4 in Asian culture, 13 in Western culture.)
3) There seems to be bad events occuring on days after my birthday (The Virginia Tech attack on 4/16/2007, the OKC bombing 4/19/1995, and the Boston Marathon bombings 4/15/2013)
4) It's hard to quantify, but sometimes things turn to crap if I cheer for a certain team.
5) My Aspie's. It's caused major difficulties in my life socially speaking.

So, what do you think? Am I just really a poison on the world, or am I not? Sound off.

No.
Some people just end up being lucky/unlucky by random chance and that could change at any time. You are not cursed, just in a difficult situation and jumping to unfounded conclusions.

You are not cursed. Sometimes we tend to focus on negative things and make them more personal than they are because we can see coincidences. But I am sure that for as many negative things as you find you can also find very positive things and maybe even more. You might give that a try and see what comes up and perhaps start a thread asking if you are blessed. :D.

And not being able to come up with the positive things does not mean they are not there. I know I have a hard time being positive about my life, but if I'm in a good mood and reflect I see so much to be grateful for, but otherwise I can't think of too much because I'm too focused on the bad.

That is very true. I think a lot of people have that issue. It's good to take time to really make efforts to try to be grateful even for the littlest or most insignificant things. It's really healthy and actually and I think I even read in some articles, I don't remember which ones, it was a long time ago, but I think that feelings of gratitude and joy and positivity release chemicals from the brain and really help heal the body and make it more healthy. But sometimes I look outside and just tell myself how happy it makes me that the sun is shining and the sky is so beautiful with puffy clouds, or if I see a beautiful flower I feel really grateful to have seen it. Even marveling at and being grateful for the smallest things like that can really change my outlook on my whole day.

I used to think I was cursed. I wondered why life was so damn hard for me when others seemed to find it all easy. But I found out about Aspergers, found out that I have it and that there are lots of others with Aspergers and have similar problems to mine.

Numbers do not curse anyone. Believing in curses could.

No one is cursed as curses do not exist.

Johnny, this isn't a curse. Someone is jinxing you.

Because you are jinxed, other things happen and the jinx forces you to associate other unrelated things to you. To be cured, try not to think about these things or say "I am not jinxed." 5 times backwards in front of a mirror in a public bathroom.

It's a fallacy. It means "after this, therefore because of this".

Because you wrote:

...

and those events didn't happen because of your birthday.

An argument that uses poor reasoning. It can be fallacious whether or not its conclusion is true.

You should google more :P

No. It's called confirmation bias. If you look for reasons to believe you're cursed, you'll find them. You just won't notice anything that says otherwise. The short version is there's no such thing as luck, no such thing as a curse or blessing. Magical thinking leads to a lot of problems. If your family pushes magical thinking and that sort of thing, I'm sorry. It's really a terrible thing to do.

Thinking like that helps you about as much as a homeopathic 'doctor' (meaning not at all ... they sell you water they believe to have magic powers)

I don't believe my parents push that sort of thing you said.
