i dont care if this doesn't fit the criteria for 'stimming' but its very relaxing and stimulating for me, so whatever

while i was taking a shower tonight, i was asking myself why i love the shower so much, and why its the only hygienic thing i do for myself? and shouldn't i like brushing my teeth or washing my face as much as i love taking a shower, then it hit me, i actually dont care about the Washing at all, i care about how i physically feel, for example, washing my hair doesn't make me feel good because its clean, it feels good because it feels lighter afterwards, less itchy and the lather of the soap feels fantastic. I wash myself with a Loofa, i love the way it feels when i rub it on my skin,( i get very dry skin because i don't drink water) it relieves the itching. and finally, i do not like body hair, it is very uncomfortable and i become stress when i have body hair, so shaving feels great as well.

I used to hate the sound of the shower though, the running water and drain really bothers me, so i play music and it helps significantly.

the steam and such is very relaxing too.

anyways, do any other aspies have something like this?

Eh well, I like stairs. Just because I like the cosy feeling when I sit on them. But I only do this at home because I know it's clean and all, and I always sit on the exact same spot. Not sure if this is the same, it sounds to me that you just like showering. And you're definitly not the only one who likes that. A lot of people like warm showers because it's relaxing, but they hate cold showers. Maybe you should try taking cold showers, so you know if you like showers just because it's warm and relaxing or actually because you feel lighter and all that. I definitly feel comfortable under a warm shower. But I only take them before bed, because they relax me. In the morning (IF i take a shower in the morning) I take a cold one, because I feel energized after it. I don't think the ' stimming place' you have is an aspie thing, you just like showering. But, why don't you drink water?
