I am in the process of negotiating a deal with Lawrys [owners of Denver Aquarium] so that during the retreat we can go to the aquarium at no extra costs to the retreat participants. The mini retreat will run from a Saturday Afternoon until Tuesday morning [still waiting on available dates in February and March] and we would be going to the aquarium on a Monday when it is not crowded.

Afterwards, we can either go straight back to the retreat right away or we can spend some time on the 16th street mall for a bit.

The first night I am planning on a turkey[ maybe ham too, plus, of course a vegetarian option] Thanksgiving style dinner because I am so grateful to have this opportunity to spend time and make plans with others on the spectrum.

If it is snowing we can build snowmen and forts. My youngest son has already volunteered to lead hikes on the trails.

Two reminders; bedrooms will need to be shared. Also, not in the lodge but in other parts of the ranch; since this is a nudist resort there is a chance you might see a naked person, and if you go in the hot tub you are not allowed to wear clothing.

I mentioned this earlier but we are going to have a number of assorted presentations and discussions specifically geared towards Autistic community. Ammenities include hot tub, bocce ball, paddle ball and shuffleboard [if no snow] In the clubhouse there is pinball [we might unplug] pool table, ping pong table, sound system, huge flat screen tv with dvds' and a bookcase filled with an assortment of reading material.

One way that we are able to keep prices so low is by preparing and cleaning up from our meals ourselves. We are asking [no chore police] for everyone to personally commit to an hour or more of time per day to help us out.

We want everyone to feel free to share their special interests. Oh, and we are still looking for a name for the retreat.

This is truly exciting to watch this event come together on WP. If I could have made it, I would definitely be making my arrangements.

Vickygleitz, I'm sending you a PM.
