Mumbling issues

Do you get ever get told that you are mumbling and need to speak up, because they cannot understand what you are trying to say?

Very frequently, when I was younger. However, after many class presentations and a public speaking course in high school and college I have learned to better project my voice and enunciate. People still tell me I am fairly quiet, but they can at least understand me now.

My mother frequently tells me that I'm mumbling. Nobody else has, so I'm unsure if I actually mumble or if she just has impaired hearing.

I mumble and talk so quietly most people don't hear me. Luckily I can speak clearly in the right circumstances.
