Yeah I know, the title looks strange but its true. I was diagnosed when I was 26 years old and my life has constantly been improving. Having the diagnosis ensured that I had access to resources that I think most people don't have, because I truly do need the help in getting ahead in life.

I have had access to government help in the form of 9 months of Supplemental Security Disability Income, occupational assistance from the state Rehabilitation Service Commission, and because I was smart enough to enroll in college I got top of the line assistance in academic, occupational and other matters from the Disability Services Office. In addition to that I also recieved help from family and friends that are well to do.

Because I reached out and got the help I now have so much to be thankful for and a bright future.

I am now on track to begin a new career in clerical administrative. I am getting paid training courtesy of the BVR and the Goodwill!!

But now I think the time has come for me to start helping others who are struggling as I have struggled. I'm not an expert, I don't have a degree in social work. But what I can offer is some guidance on where to go and what to do to help someone else who is in a similar situation.

I'm not Goliath, I'm David. In this day and age if you are David you can get ahead!!

That's great. Maybe you could create how to guide for others to go get the help too. Some people may need help but not know what to do to get it.

You were able to get SSDI based on Asperger's alone or were their other qualifying conditions?

I had other conditions which were side effects from having undiagnosed Asperger Syndrome.

Good for you. I hate having Asperger's. Life's too short to have Asperger's. I can't even go on a fab 2-week trip to the USA with my family because of many Asperger's traits getting in the way.
