I'm sitting here trying to watch videos on my Special Interests and some mongrel outside starts up one of those petrol garden blowers. I CAN'T STAND THEM. They're worse than 2 stroke motor bikes. At least motor bikes go away. These things go on and on and on and on and they never go away - And, they're so USELESS. All they do is blow the leaves from one area to another. Seriously - GET A RAKE!! !! !

I'm going out soon to insert the nozzle of his blower up his arse in a minute and pulling the trigger!! !! !! That'll fix him!

Now I realise why whenever I hear these and complain in the extreme and no-one else seems to share my hatred of them. It's my sensory overload issue. Honestly, when I hear them, I just can't concentrate on anything!! !

That's it! He's DEAD!! !

Just kidding. I'm a pacifist, but REALLY?!?!?!

Sydney is the last place in the world that should be haphazardly arranging dry leaves...

Eh. I personally don't mind them much, but repetitive noises kill me.

I live in an apartment complex, so I have to hear the leaf blowers and lawnmowers running a couple times a week for the entire day. I guess I'm just used to it.

Fluorescent lighting, though... OLD fluorescent lighting bars, specifically... @.@

When I was reading this thread, an ad started up automatically WITH SOUND. So far as I know I did not click on anything or even move my mouse over it accidentally. I hate it when web sites or pages automatically start playing a video or audio file without asking me first. On this web site especially, when so many of us (including myself) have sensory issues, that is the WRONG TYPE OF AD TO HAVE ON WRONGPLANET!

I hate that too. Install AdBlock Plus!

When I get close to overload, I dissociate/shut down.

This doesn't stop with AdBlock, the developer of which is headed for years of prosperity if I had to guess. Get F.Lux! It's a screen contrast/brightness automation tool aimed at reducing eyestrain. I'm a techie (obviously enough ) and I've never slept better than in the 2 months I began using it!
