Now, I don't have anything going on in my life now (no work or school) and I can't just go out and get a job now. Generally, my brain always did work at a different pace, but how can I surpass that and get my thoughts moving quicker again? All my thoughts that race through my head are distractions? Should I pick up a good book on logic? Are any games that make you think even good for my level of logic? I'm not asking for unlimited brain power, but I just want my brain to be a little sharper for my own pace.

Unrelated note: But what's the point of developing and using these skills when I cannot find a job in this economy and we're all doomed.

Um... good logic skills may come in handy in the post-apocalyptic world. This makes it good for both apocalypse and non-apocalypse scenarios.

If you're a gamer-type, sites like Lumosity seem to work well for keeping you sharp. If you're a reader I'm sure you already know which route is best for you. Also, diet can be modified to assist in brain power. I don't know what, specifically.

Please report back if it turns out to be a bacon-based diet.
