I was doing research on Aspergers and I realized I fit a lot of the symptoms
-New situations make me anxious
-I feel awkward in social situations, especially eye contact and stuff
-I can't, for the life of me, keep a conversation going with a stranger(unless about food or music)
-Poor posture and sometimes I just don't know what to do with my arms...
-Fiddling with things when I am nervous, especially paper (I like to fold the edges)
-When I was younger, I just would not talk to anyone except my family. At 15, I still find ordering food and talking to teachers difficult
-Sensetive towards loud noises, and extremely quiet ones, too. I can be sitting at the far end of he classroom and hear a knock on the door, even if the guy sitting at the front does not hear it
-Sensitive nose
-I wear the same thing every day...pretty much. I hate change
BUT
-My motor skills developed really well. Not to brag, but I had nice printing in grade one and started playing piano at 7
-I understand sarcasm and facial expressions pretty well. I do not know if that was learned, thogh. Sorry this is really long. Thanks

Is there a purpose to your post?

You've not asked a question. Did you want to know something about Asperger's or other forms of HFA?

You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

What would these results mean? Been told here I must be a "half pint".

I can't keep a conversation going with a stranger either. If it's about something specific like Cubase, then yeah. The question is: how often do you run into someone who has specific interests like yours?

I also wear the same thing every day. That's probably just laziness on my part. I don't go anywhere anyway so it makes ne difference what I wear.

My posture is fine and so are my motor skills.

I also understand sarcasm (sometimes) and facial expression.

I think he wants an opinion of what we think. Obviously you cannot be diagnosed accurately online.

The autism spectrum, is called a "spectrum" because it has a wide variety of symptoms. One aspie has that, while another has that. We're all different.

Not all aspies are clumsy and have poor motor skills. Some of us (including me), are a little clumsy and a little trouble with motor skills, but overall, almost average. I had problems tying my shoes and my handwriting is bad, and I am horrible at playing instruments. You know those monkey bars on the playground? Well, I couldn't get past the second bar.

I'm also fine with reading facial expressions.

you might. asperger affects everyone differently. some aspies have good motor skills and can read expressions.
but are you hyper, walk on your toes, rage attacks, special interest, extreme love for music and animals, love for danger mixed with general anxiety? autism numbs one sense and sharpens another. i have a lousy sense of smell and a very developed sense of taste, for instance.
are you sensitive to texture of food, to certain clothes that cling to your body?
are you numb to some pains and hyper sensitive to others?

Maybe ... maybe not. It is important to remember that the opinions expressed by other members here are NOT valid as diagnoses. Only an appropriately-trained, experienced and licensed mental-health professional can make a valid diagnosis of an ASD; and as far as I know, there is no such person on WP. Online tests can not provide an objective ASD diagnosis, either.

I hope that your doctor returns soon, and that she will be able to answer all of your questions.

Good luck! :D

A lot of girls my age are into pop music, which I hate. They like makeup, fashion and stuff like that. They are stereotypical teenagers. Quite frankly, I don't care for those things. It is hard to find people who enjoy the works of Chopin and also indie/alternitive rock, yes.

Sorry if I confused you! I mainly just wanted to write down my thoughts and get them organized.

I share all of your symptoms except instead of noise I am very sensitive to light. I'm also very clumsy. I can read peoples facial expressions for the most part but I can't always understand sarcasm unless I know the person well. That being said I have a sarcastic sense of humour so go figure! I am extremely anxious in social situations and experience "fight or flight" for anything social (including work). I hate eye contact but I've trained myself to do it, I'll usually follow the other person and look away when they do but it makes me extremely uncomfortable looking in someones eyes.
