When I felt familiar pain the other day (it was constant for awhile) it was difficult to stay on task at first and more aloof, then more passive than usual.

Does a certain amount of (physical) pain or discomfort (when/if you can feel it) change or make behaviors worse for you?

No idea what you're referring to as a "familiar" pain.

Familiar as something you are used to or easily recognize.

Not sure how familiar pain would be different from unfamiliar pain.

I have a chronic nerve condition; after 10 years, I am quite familiar with it; the severity is what gets me; then again, severity of pain not related to this condition also causes changes in my behavior, too, if it's bad enough.

Yes, if I wasn't in so much pain I think I would be alot nicer to be around in real life. I find it hard to cope with the pain and focus on what I'm doing and be able to think of what to say to other people at work. I try so hard not to snap at people. I am used to pain, I have constant headaches, but it's difficult forcing myself to live through everyday and cope with other people too.
