I was wondering what other people on the autism spectrum do for a creative outlet or I guess I should say just an outlet in general? Since I was little I can remember having a desire to create. categorize, and organize things since I find it so difficult to connect with others. So, what is your outlet?

Since I was a child I have been writing. At some point I started saving my writing and I have over 300 poems. It's nothing special though and I prefer beat generation style writing. I also started composing music and playing piano sometime last June.

I write stuff. And I make stuff. Usually crochet... some sewing. Some home repairs (but don't tell my landlord).

I love making maps. I take blank maps from google and let my imagination go wild on paint.

That's cool. In the state I am originally from you could do home repairs at your own cost when renting if you wanted. If you notified your landlord and they didn't address the issue in a timely manner you could even deduct the labor and costs from your rent.

Can you go into more detail? I don't fully understand. Do you just make up maps? like a treasure map or more technical maps?

I like to go online and to see what other people think of pop culture, specifically children's cartoons. Granted, I have trouble stopping myself; I've lost so much sleep from going on the internet because I felt I had nothing better to do...

I've been songwriting for about 8 years. Recently began composing MIDI songs for fun and to teach myself music theory.

I also used to draw, would like to write a story/book.

But yeah, music is my greatest creative outlet.

Human testing. Giving advice. Creating solutions to society's (NT's) problems.
It's just so fulfilling, I can't stop!

(EDIT) Oh yeah, I also have been programming as a hobby for several years. If any artists want to collaborate and make a game or digital graphic novel or something, I might help! I have no interest in making art myself, but I love bringing things to life (make reality) with practical application of other peoples talents.

I've done a lot of crochet. I've made two baby blankets and one big blanket, along with some other stuff, but I'm running out of ideas, 'cause I have a hard time reading instuctions, so I can, for the most part, just make squared things. I've learned to make flowers, because I watched a video where someone did that, which is much easier than reading the instructions, but if I were to make socks, for example, I can't just watch a video.

I quite like painting, but sadly I can't get myself to do it. I am also having problems with coming up with things to paint, 'cause my painting abilities is very limited, and I have a very poor imagination.

I've done some desent drawings, but I get really self concious when I draw. When I draw people, anyway. I can't really draw much else, 'cause I can't picture things in my head, and I have, as I said, a really poor imagination.

Scrapbooking can be nice too.

Oh, yeah, and taking pictures, I take a lot of pictures.

Dont really have one sadly :S

The person talking about maps, made me think of Jerry, who i read something about some time ago.

Try searching on google for Jerrys map. this adult guy who has spend like better part of his life drawing a huge map on papers. its actually quite amazing.

here is a link.

Ride buses, visit the coast, learn piano, knit.

I used to write, I had poetry published as a teenager. I have not written anything in years. I did win a poetry competition about 8 years ago though.
