That is just scary. Having a complete stranger keeping tabs on me. But yeah I'm hypo and have been for years. So Machine do you have like a Rolodex with stats on all members?

No but I did start a list of members and their self-reported Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to see if certain members personality types are more likely to have ADHD.
But my own ADHD killed that project :)

i've been taking synthroid since my infantry days..my thyroid did not function the way a normal thryoid is supposed to function, which caused my face to appear like it was swelling..luckily they caught it in time, or i would've been much worse off...i currently take 200mcg, and it is adjusted from time to time..i don't like taking levothyroxine, 'cause while they say it's supposed to be the same, it isn't..it makes me feel all weird (well..weirder than i normally feel)

I'm pretty sure I have an underactive thyroid.

Sorry I don't remember your age. But most people once they hit their 30's are hypo. A lot has to do with things in our diet and in the environment that you don't have much control over. ..fluoride, soy, lack of iodine and selenium, radiation particularly from dental x-rays to name a few.

Nope, but they're constantly testing me for hyperthyroidism. They keep thinking that to have anxiety as pervasive as mine is, there must be some sort of physical cause, and EVERYONE wants to test my thyroid. Always comes back normal though.

Machine1...I am devastated to be left out of your Hypo list.I was tested in 1993 and have been on Synthroid ever since.Oddly,I had some symptoms I thought were hyperthyroid(tremble in hands, very active, lots of anxiety and low body weight)but my DR at the time said it was because low thyroid was causing my adrenal gland to "kick-in" to compensate and giving me mixed symptoms.Other DRs since then have said that is not "scientific".Everytime I find a DR who makes a "statement of fact"...the next DR says that person was a nut....whats with the medical profession?I still think my thyroid is to low but the tests all say it is normal range and they wont increase it because that is dangerous...I think they need to go to a professional endocrinologist but my DRs dont want to give me a referral "cause they already know all the answers"....fricken lunatic egomaniac DRs.

I have hyperthyroidism that swings from hyper to normal to hypo. This is common with hyperthyroidism and it is very possible that I will swing hypo and stay there.

I have hypothyroidism. I was on too low a dose of thyroxine for a long time and really had to fight to get my dose upped. I used to get so tired i had to go back to bed in the afternoon on a lot of days. My dose was increased from 50mcg to 75mcg and later to 100mcg and now I'm fine. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't kept on at my doctor and insisted on seeing an endocrinologist. The trouble is, if your results come back in the 'normal range' the doctor will not do anything. However, some people need to be at the top end of the 'normal range' to feel well, and that was me. So I'd suggest anyone who has tested in the 'normal range' but feels they may still be hypo get a copy of their blood results and keep being a pain in their doctor's backside till they get a satisfactory result.

Being adequately medicated hasn't made me any less Aspie, however!

No diagnosed or suspected hypothyroid in my family. I suspected I was hyperthyroid until my 20's when my metabolism "normalized".
The few people I know who have hypothyroid are all NTs, extreme NTs in fact.
