Do you get ""White Outs""?...

I seem to get these quite regularly out of the blue, where everything goes white and i feel a bit spiny! sometimes i get a high pitch ring in my ears and my anxiety levels increase sometimes the sweats, i have to lie down but is still there when i close my eyes... I feel like i am being spun around... I get these weird fractal images in the corner of my vision similar to the very poor quick Photoshop image i did to better describe it.. the fractal image is in the corner of the eyes/vision and are moving, everything goes cloudy and i cant focus on anything and little spots sometimes appear... Does this happen to any one else? or is it just another one of my many qwerks!? haha

I have never heard of that. Have you had it checked medically?

If it's a new thing you are experiencing, maybe you need an opthalmologist to check it out just in case.

I tend to agree that if this is a new phenomenon, you want to get it cleared by an eye doctor or other doctor. One's vision is nothing to mess with.

There are also other (non-optical) illnesses that can cause visual disturbances. I don't want to scare you but MS is one that comes to mind. It sort of also sounds a little like how some people describe migraine auras.

A doctor will want to know when this started, how often it happens, and what you are doing just before it begins. Such as exercising, taking a sauna, smoking a joint, or just staring at a computer screen for 8+ hours. Does pain happen with it or after it? How long does the experience last? So you might start taking notes about those sorts of things.

Hi, has been happening on and off for a few years now, no pain associated with it, but can happen when i get really stressed, also when i don't think im stressed ( which is always, but controlled) but start feeling anxious when this happens, effects can last just an hour - two hours, almost like the feeling your about to pass out but dont, just everything goes white and i cant see.

possibly a case of scintillating scotoma (a prodromal aura associated with painless migraines)

thank you and thank you B9, I suppose it is similar, but looking at all the pictorial and video representations, it seems to be a more localized blurring of only a certain area, where mine is a total white out with fractals appearing in the corner ( actually the fractals are quite cool!, but cant focus on them as a central as they are more in the upper corners of my vision, spiraling away... Can only relate it to something like the moments before you pass out where everything goes white, but my hearing doesn't become ultra sensitive like when passing out ( that's my experience) just sometimes a level of tinnitus... Seems to be associated with stress, or the sudden onset of stress... Last episode was a few weeks back when i started doing the house cleaning, came on immediately... Maybe my body is allergic to cleaning a house! hahaha... But seriously i am not sure, so will bring it up with my GP when i next see him... I did mention it to the psychologist i was seeing for an evaluation, she didn't really say much other that have i suffered from epilepsy in the past, when saying no, she just put it down to stress related.

As far as MS goes, i dont think so, but again worth bringing up with GP visit... Many thanks for the insight to that one, was something that wasn't even a thought. :)

Such 'fractals' in the corner of your eyes can be a symptom of migranes, you might want to get checked out for that
