I guess I need toexplain this a bit more. Sorry for not being clear you can't read my mimnd (did you guess I was an Aspie? LOL)

By hormonal problems I mean that the change of hormones was not normal, that somehow you body did not produce enough, or produced too little hormones and that caused some complications during pregnancy, caused early birth, or played a role in the difficulty of the birth. Anything that according to your doctor or NP, or other professional involved was caused by an imbalance in the hormonesin your body while pregnant.

I would like to know if you have encountered these situations because I am researching AS and pregnancy/prenatal conditions.

If you have comments or additional info, please add them here in a reply post.

Thank you.

You might want to choose one forum and only make one post on it instead of in several different forums.

I want to have as many people see this poll as possible. You can only vote once no matter in which place it is posted. So what does it matter where I post in or how many times?

Just wondering...

I've never heard of hormone problems during pregnancy. Can you give an example of what a hormone problem during pregnancy would be?

I was wondering what was meant by hormonal problems too. I had morning nausea for a few days with one of the pregnancies, but I don't think I had any other problems.

I have the same question. I don't think it's very clear what's being asked.

You'd avoid easily potentially people voting for one and then mistakenly seeing another and duplicating. All your 'data' would be in one thread vs. spread out.

yes, I see your point, two different polls, people voting in one poll, the other poll or different ways on both. Makes a scramble, not real data.

ummm... I might be looking at the question right, but really have no clue. I'm a bit confused though because I am not sure if you are asking for people with AS who have had pregnancies, or if you are asking about people who were pregnant with AS babies...

It says Aspie mothers, but one could assume that it meant the mother of an aspie as well.

Hormonal problems? Do you mean a lot of moodiness? Well, that kind of goes with pregnancy, doesn't it? Isn't that normally one of the signs they say to look for in what to expect when you find out that you are pregnant? I don't get how it would relate specifically to Aspies or not....

I didn't have a lot of hormonal problems, but I also had very complicated pregnancies. Early contractions for a good 2 months, almost every single night with my daughter. Both were breech, both were born a month early, etc. As far as any emotional state, my guess is I probably reacted typically for someone who is uncomfortable and in pain, lol.

I really got excited when I saw this question. I hope you are inquiring about moms of Aspies. That's me, and my pregnancy was the worst I have ever experienced. I had 3 prior, and altho didn't feel well with any of them, the aspie one had so many problems, I wanted to die. I had such a surge of hormones that I threw up for 5 months straight. I could not eat, drink or get into a standing position without severe vertigo and numbing head pain. I also developed the most severe carpal tunnel pain the doctor had ever seen, and the nerve damage was so severe I had to have surgery in both hands after my daughter's birth. Nothing about the pregnancy felt right, from beginning to end. Also, I grew so huge, people thought I was having quints. Labor was agonizing, and the pains were one on top of the other, with no respite in between. My baby was almost 9 lbs., my others barely over 7lbs. I also would not clot after delivery and had to have transfusions and clotting factors given.

I'm curious to know if anyone else had similar situations.

Thank you Aspie mom that is what I was looking for!

And yes the title means BOTH moms of Aspie kids and Moms who have AS themselves and eventually also have Aspie kids. BOTH, ALL moms with AS kids or themselves are welcome to participate!

THANKS!! !

I had no problems with hormonal imbalances at all during my pregnancies. In fact, it was the healthiest I have ever been in my life. I took quite a few different supplements throughout my pregnancies, and had an extremely nutritional diet.

By the way, Aspymom, sufficient Vitamin B6 can cure both morning sickness and carpel tunnel syndrome.

Had pre-eclampsia with both my kids (AS Son, NT Daughter), had severe carpal tunnel syndrome with my daughter but not my son. Did have a bad infection with my son when I was 24 weeks pregnant and they thought he may need to be delivered then. Held on til 37 weeks though. Other than that - no real pregnancy problems. Oh apart from having a headache every day for the entire duration of BOTH pregnancies.

only carried one baby to term: my 9 y/o DD who is HFA. Pregnancy was not unusual despite bad headaches nearly every day, but I did have pre-term labor on and off from 34-36 weeks.

After, I had major issues with depression and breastfeeding. I could not make enough milk and nothing that lactation specialists had me do, worked. I had to supplement. I later found out that I had major hormonal imballances when I was trying to conceive again. I miscarried at least 6 times- early- before 8 weeks. Adopted 2 more kids after trying unsucessfully for 4 years to have another one.
