So a couple weeks ago I linked my friend these forums, asking her to have a look at them. She did briefly but then said she didn't want to think about me when reading all the "bad" stories on here.

Since then, I've secretly found myself hoping her to have signed up on these forums under an alias, and whenever a new thread is started that sounds like it could have something to do with me/us/her, I'm clicking it and checking the sign up date from the poster, and basically only reading the post to see if it could be from her, incognito, asking for advice.

Anyone else ever had something like this with WP, or another site for that matter?

I'd be disappointed that the issues of real life autistic people were referred to as "Bad Stories," and that someone so casually blew off an opportunity to understand more about what I go through and what makes me who I am. :?

Not a bit surprised, mind you, just disappointed. It's far too familiar an occurrence to be surprising.

Nono, she's interested in my autism and helps me with it.. (for example last week, after christmas, people at university were asking how it was, and I was being honest by saying it sucked because two members of my family died and my grandma was doing bad as a reaction to that as well.. She took me aside and explained it was better to just say that it was good to people who don't really care anyway because it would only make them look at me either with pity or make them think I'm weak.)

She just wants to learn about it from me, and not get stuck thinking a certain way about me because she read it on a website, but as my threadstarting post implied, I can't stop thinking/hoping/obsessing about checking if she's on here.

Occasionally, with one of my friends who I know has wondered about Asperger's for herself. Generally though, I'm more paranoid that someone I know is on here (particularly someone from work), since I associate people finding out about my NLD with getting fired, generally because they are asking about my issues as they are firing me. Although I did just "come out" to my supervisor after a year and a half of successful work, and she seemed both not surprised, and fine with it.
