Does anyone here ever get in a 'giddy' or 'silly' mood?

Sometimes I find myself in what I call a giddy moment.

Now this can take several forms which I shall now try to explain to you all...

1. Asking silly questions, which is the most common form it takes.

2. Posting silly things on web sites, this does not happen very often but I think there may be some such posts of mine on this web site.

3. Acting rude, stupid or inappropriately, needless to say this only happens around people I can really trust and get a reaction from.

4. Pretending to have Classic Autism

Now I NEVER do any of this stuff when I'm out in public, for reasons which are obvious, but I will do them in my own home, or among my fellow Service Users or Staff Members of my Supported Living Placement unless they are asleep.

What do you think?

I usually get like that if I start talking to someone online. I'll get all excited and start bouncing around on my chair while doing really random things like spewing out information and questions in weird ways. For example I'll just spill random thoughts into a chat window and be like 'Art thou mad romeo?' and laugh at myself. Sometimes I'll go on an excessive pun spree or rant about something but in a stupid way.

I can do this in real life as well, and it takes the form of inappropriate questions such as 'Would you rather shoot a flamethrower up your anus or drink 1L of liquified feta cheese every day for the rest of your life?' while making weird noises/facial expressions and laughing. I also use accents excessively - not just normal accents but weird tones of voice I've picked up throughout the years. Like saying 'Yeeeeeeersh' like an old man really loud etc.

I could go on all day about this, but yes I relate!

Sometimes when I am really tired I can get silly and giddy.

Quite often! Not in public or anything, but around my parents, yep.

Same here, makes it hard for me to sleep. Apart from that, if I know I'm alone in a big area I might sing or make funny voices, giggling the whole time.

Yeah I get that way sometimes, like today for instance. I will act goofy around my friend and or cousin and laugh at giggle at stuff I normally wouldn't. And on the forums I am on, I will post wacky stuff that I usually don't, like my current avatar there: http://i.imgur.com/ns35AWZ.gif
And I will give sarcastic responses to stupid stuff I would normally ignore.
But usually it is more entertaining to the forum than annoying.
Although I have gone too far with it a couple of times and got penalized for it
in neg rep or a warning from the staff. Like: http://i.imgur.com/JeJldif.png
And: http://i.imgur.com/wKtZnn7.png
Normally I am considered very mature and responsible etc.
I think it is probably a stress reliever that kicks in automatically once in a while.

Oh yeah. I usually do that when I can't focus, get bored with something or procrastinate doing something but stay on the same task.

I like to friendly tease some people (or just be overly sarcastic), annoy my pets, run around, often sing and dance to music, and just be a massive ball of hyperactivity. It usually lasts 30 minutes to an hour.

I'm kind of like this now. Beware. Beware...

I can get giddy (not so much silly) when I become socially over-stimulated. If I allow it to go unchecked, I will eventually say something inappropriate in an effort to be funny.

That happens less frequently now simply because it is a self-limiting phenomena: the more I become giddily inappropriate in social settings, the fewer invitations I receive to participate in social settings. :)

Yes, I have giddy moments. I don't know how or why I randomly turn giddy but it's nice when I'm feeling that way.

My giddyness index seems to correlate with my alcohol intake :D

I occasionally get into giddy/silly/hyperactive moods. I love it when it happens because it's like an emotional high. It's been happening more often than usual lately, which I'm happy about.

Anyway, when I get into these moods, I stim a lot (esp. finger flapping), laugh at every little thing, say silly/inappropriate things (though only around people who I trust). If I'm on WP, I will make silly posts.

I can get like this at times, but it usually ends up wearing me out. It's usually when I've had a lot of stimulation.

droppy's 5 most frequent emotions (descreasing order):
angry
apathetic
anxious
silly/giddy
happy

so yeah I feel like that when I'm not being angry, apathetic or anxious.
It may not seem to most people but I actually am quite witty and I laugh a lot.

I think all human beings do sometimes. I tend not to act silly, but to be more relaxed and socially engaged.
