who here has lost their sheet in a public place at some perceived slight or goof on the part of an employee? pertinent example here, was at the wal marché* today and in the check out line they ran outta their bags [mandatory reusable ones] and making people either put stuff back or take it all piecemeal out to their cars, i asked them nicely to just hold my cart off to the side and ran across a hot parking lot to my car, sweaty and hot, searching and thankfully finding a bag, ran back into the store only to find they'd dumped my stuff with some other people's stuff [with about half my stuff missing], had to re-round-up my stuff and separate the other stuff from my stuff, so me- big mouth - loudly opined that this was "bad business!" and "why did they put my stuff away when i told them i was gonna find some damned bags and be right back!?" they were just the little people who didn't know any better, they did not deserve my ire, and i should have kept my cool. i behaved like a heel and am ashamed. i'm supposed to be a mature adult and not some troublemaker.

I'm usually quiet about things like this, but I do get mad. Sometimes people just don't listen and do stupid s**t that makes more work for me when I'm already stressed, and I lowkey want to have a meltdown.

I have no idea why they would bunch your stuff up with other people's stuff and put some if it away/let other people take it. That's just an idiotic decision. lmao

This sort of thing happened to me when I was younger, or I said insensitive things the employees couldn't do anything about because they were on the job. I am ashamed but I've learned not to do that. It took a long time. I think most people on the spectrum can learn.

last thing i wanted to do is make the workers feel bad. or embarrassed. i needed to vent somehow my frustrations.

I know you feel bad and wish you could take it back, and I know the feeling of not being able to take something back once it's out of your mouth, but you haven't done anything that most people haven't done at some time. Things sometimes get to us and we lose our cool and our temper. But even the phrasing suggests it's something we temporarily "lost" (our composure), not a thing we did on purpose or with bad intentions.

I used to work retail, so I now tend to treat retail workers with due "care". Dealing with the greater Public is HELL. I certainly do not want to make things worse. Who does that?

i've had to do retail as well. better than bein' homeless.

I don't think I've done that to an employee somewhere, but I have done such things to others. One time I completely lost it on a neighbor over some perceived slight, another time I did that to a postal worker. Not my finest moments. I lost my sh** and felt like crap after because of it.

Sometimes oops moments happen. Sometimes we live up to the standards we set for ourselves, and we are the person we want to be, the person we know we are. Other times we drop the ball and fail to do so. I think it's part of that whole 'human condition' thing we are all subjected to. No one is perfect. We are all human, even those of us who feel like aliens.

I had one public tantrum since being an adult. I was 19, and heartbroken because the guy I had a crush on was nasty to me. I was with my friend and I stomped around and cried, and everyone in the bus station looked at me. It was embarrassing but at least they had a reason to look at me, as I was quite entertaining. I just get mad when people keep looking at me when I'm not doing anything in the least bit entertaining, just standing there or walking looking normal and boring like everyone else.

usually , i just grimace about .. and get a very stern look on my face....or will offer some sarcastic anology to them.
Usually because I think it is valuable , that person have done something dumb, to me, have a need for understanding
of the side effects of their actions . Usually it is not hard to detect if their actions were intentional or not . Can be a smart - alec at times .

I rarely get angry, unless I feel being treated unfairly. But people wouldn't know because I seem calm and rational all the time.

Once I get home, though, everyone in my life would hear about it and I'll also post it online and text to a few non-local people, if there's online review I'd post something, if not then I might file an official complaint to the store or organization. I'm a squeaky wheel and usually will make them pay. It's probably easier to just drop the issue, but I'm not such an easygoing type. I am however about 10X more easygoing than my mom already. She's always ready to fight for just about anything.

Customer anger is often justified, and expressing it sometimes gets good results.

Last week I was walking home from work, when a car accidentally stalled it in the middle of a busy road. The man in the car behind yelled something out the window at him, and he got out his car and started yelling back. Then the aggressive one got out his car and it looked like they were going to have a big fight in the middle of the road. It was very embarrassing and unnecessary, and was holding up all the traffic. But both drivers suddenly calmed down, got back into their cars and carried on driving. I was frightened as I was walking past on the sidewalk because I thought they might for some reason get me involved or take their anger out on me. There are a lot of unpredictable people in this city and a lot of crime happens. I was relieved when they got back into their cars and drove on.

I have. I'm prone to meltdowns and impatience when I have to deal with the real world, which is why I try to avoid dealing with the real world. I don't usually have the meltdown until I get home but I can get really huffy and impertinent involuntarily in shops. It's not usually because of a specific person but more like the sensory environment or the service experience in general. Sometimes it's a series of incompetent people getting on my nerves one after another.

The other day I was in Staples (big store that sells business stuff) and they had fluorescent lighting, loud dance music, employees standing around laughing and gossiping, and somehow their store telephone was ringing repeatedly at extremely loud volume, over the same loudspeaker as the music. It was an old-school landline ring sound, but higher pitched from going through their stereo system into the speakers. I swear to God it must have rung about 30 times while these teenaged buffoons stood there ignoring it and laughing. I didn't have my NC headphones or earplugs or any way to cover my ears so I walked around with my hands over my ears saying "Answer your f'n phone!" over and over again even if other customers were nearby. I kept thinking it would stop any second so I attempted to shop but finally stormed out and nearly had a meltdown before I even got to the car.
