When I’m happy I seem to weird people out.

However, when I’m shut down everyone seems to break me out of my shell and it goes back to people telling me I’m weird again.

It’s like an infinite loop...

Anyone else notice this?

Yes :|

They want to break you out of your shell, thinking they will like you. They don't really like the result, and want you to go back in there.

Yes, people seem unfamiliar with happiness. Fortunately I am often happy when I am with my children, and smiling at them is usually seen as a bit odd but sweet, so I can do it. But I would anyway, they should see how much I love them! But I do notice it's a bit unusual. Recently someone jumped all over me for smiling when I was happy, though. It was unsettling. Not like I'm usually that happy and I want to enjoy it when I can.

I just make an effort to always weird them out. Basically everyone is convinced I am an alien of some sort.

this is very much me, I am either "on" or "off" and cannot seem to regulate well, I do like to get out and try to deal with people but I will either mess up the interaction and blow it by gushing, or it will be a bad day and there is zero interactionn.

plus no matter what happens if there is more than one person I interact with I need at least a day or two to recharger from the interaction, sometimes three or more

The same here.
Allthough the extreme introvert in me is more prominent.

I'll get that too from time to time. Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Yeah I get the same way, but usually I'm too much on the upbeat side. I get way too excited and have difficulty controlling myself. It's not like something that gets me crazy but yeah. When I shut down though I shut down hard and my emotions just get all over.

I tend to be very on with people. If certain people make comments about me, I'm off. That doesn't happen to me when I'm in public though. Youths do such things as they walk past my apartment window. I turn the switch off and say nothing, because I know they'll get in trouble by another tenant in my building eventually.

Hah, yes, BTDT. It's like when people say, "be yourself.". They think they're going to get normal and don't like it when they don't.
