I live in rural Kentucky. It took me seven years to find someone who had any knowledge of AS. The only services I have been able to find are support groups of parents who have autistic children. Is there a directory of services listed by state that show the most aspie-friendly parts of the U.S.? Because I am unemployed, I might have to change mental health providers, and I am afraid I will lose all the progress I made if I see a different psychologist or psychiatrist. It has taken me so long to start making progress with my core issues. I don't want to regress. I want access to some help. If you are receiving autism-specific services as an adult in the U.S., please share your experience, how you got linked up with services.

I found this site: Autismsource.org. You can put in your state, then city or county and they'll generate a list of local services. I put in Kentucky. I couldn't specify a location, of course, not knowing where you are. And I didn't narrow the search down (they have things you can check off: "Community Supports for Adults," "Information and Support," "Diagnostic," etc., so you can narrow down the search). The general search returned 815 results. Hopefully you can find what you need near enough to you.
