I've created a very basic short survey in attempt to develop a greater understanding of ASDs. If you choose to complete the survey, please do not exaggerate any traits/characteristics and read the questions carefully; I need the statistics to be as reliable as possible. I was limited in my options when creating the survey as I could not afford professional software, so I apologize for the sloppiness. As a random fun-fact it's green and yellow themed because I'm Australian.

After a sufficient amount of responses I'll try and organize the results into an infograph or something, and upload it for viewing.

EDIT I - There is a field that asks for your WrongPlanet username, but you do not have to fill it in. If you do, please send me a PM so I have proof that someone isn't pretending to be someone else.

EDIT II - The survey contains two pages. There is a button in the middle of the page to go to page 2.

Thanks for the responses, there have been 18 since I posted, 14 of which completed the entire survey.

So far here are some mildly interesting extracts of data at this current time:

These involve 18 respondents:

+ 77.78% of the respondents are females.
+ 50% of respondents chose Asperger's as best matching their situation/diagnosis, out of a possible 5 options.

These involve 14 respondents:

+ Sensory issues are most commonly ranked as the #1 area of struggle, ahead of social interaction, resistance to change, non-verbal communication and motor skills in that respective order.
+ The most common communication difficulties are initiating conversation, and maintaining conversation.
+ Auditory hypersensitivity holds title of most prevalent sensory issue at 85.71%, followed by both visual and tactile hypersensitivity at 71.43%.
+ With regard to special interests, 'Constant thinking/relating of interests' is the most common behaviour.

I will never release any data that could potentially identify an individual without personal consent, hence why I can't stress it enough that the WrongPlanet username question is optional. I abide 'IT Rules' when I use the term 'data' rather than 'information' as I haven't processed the data into an effective means as of yet. I have much work to do until the data is actually useful. I'll start by next week.

I found it quite problematic with the issues that currently affect me, so I basically selected "none" because I feel I have learnt to compensate for all of them.

I did it. Interesting survey, and not at all horrible like a lot of those tests are with difficult-to-answer questions.

I like polls.
It makes things more like a democracy.

I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to add more than 10 questions. I really wanted to add one that was going to be related to what you used to experience, but I'll have to do that on a future survey.

Just thought I'd post this as I've received PMs from individuals who were unsure if they had completed the survey, and it turns out they had done the first page, but not the second. I've improved text clarity to help avoid this in the future.

If you are in this category and want to complete both pages of the survey, you can. You will have to PM me so I know that it's you however. Either that or leave a comment in one of the sections that you've done the survey before, and I'll then base it off the data you entered on the first page to try and find out which of the incomplete surveys you submitted. If it doesn't allow you to submit the survey twice, I can make exceptions by changing the settings temporarily.

If you aren't in this category and only completed the first page, that's fine. It still provides me with the data from that page alone.

As of posting this there have been 52 respondents, 42 of which completed the entire survey.

Cheers!
