Called the Autism department at a hospital in the nearest city.

They're sending out paperwork and have taken my details over the phone.

The woman says there can be a SIX TO NINE MONTH WAIT. :(

At least I did it, tho'. We'll see what happens.

You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

What would these results mean? Been told here I must be a "half pint".

Wow, that's a long time. I went crazy waiting for my first appointment, and I only had to wait eight weeks. Glad you got it done though, I found the process to be rather exciting. As a heads up, once all your testing is complete, depending on the tests you take, there can be up to a month wait to get your results, I'm still waiting on mine. Hope everything goes well, good luck!

I'm just afraid they'll say I fall into the "Broader Autism Phenotype" or however it's said, and that I'm not actually on the spectrum. If only they knew...

I know. Worrying about nothing. Wait and see.

EDIT:

Ooops. Just saw something at AutismUnited's website. It said "This makes broad autism phenotype a PDD-NOS case." I know that means it's still on the spectrum.

That's what I was a little afraid of too, but if the evaluator is good, he/she will be able to pick up on the autistic behaviours you aren't even aware you're displaying. The ADOS test, which is the "gold standard" of autism assessment tests, seems really simple since it's just interaction and games, but it's actually really hard to fake. Thinking back about how mine went, I'm now aware I had been displaying behaviours I never noticed at the time. I'm sure everything will work out fine, and if you think the diagnosis (or lack thereof) is wrong, you can ask for a referral to a different doctor, but I doubt you'll need to.
