Does anyone else love foods like pumpkin pie, pea soup, and mash potatoes simply because of the texture?

To this day I love pumpkin pie. When I was young (before school) I ate mashed potatoes and pea gravy for every meal for two years. I still like mashed potatoes. I hate peas and pea gravy. LOL

Not sure if its the texture but I love all those things. Though sweet potato pie is more common than pumpkin pie around Texas.

What about cushaw squash (I bring up because pumpkin is in the squash family):

I like pea soup and lentil soup, but I don't like pumpkin pie.

I don't like pea soup, but I like the other two.

I like pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes, but not pea soup, or peas, peroid.

I buy these green split peas as a cheap protein source. Cooked with garlic, NoSalt
(Potassium chloride), celery seed, black pepper, olive oil.

Sweet potato is the best! MMMM Now I'm hungry. I love almost all squash and eggplant.

I love pumkin pie and mashed potatoes too. I don't like regular pea soup but like split pea soup. I hate lentil yuck!

I LOVE mashed potatoes and pea soup. I do enjoy mashed potatoes more than pea soup, however. I never get tired of it.

I also like some "unusual" foods such as calimari and rabbit.

There are some common foods I despise, as well. Namely peanut butter and macaroni & cheese.

I love mashed potatoes, too. Sweet potatoes are good too, but yams are icky.

I do love those (and yesterday I found that I liked mulligatawny soup as well, for the same reasons). It's like the texture enhances the taste or something.

Yup.. I like all 3 but the peas, well, they have to be hidden in the potatoes like I was 4 years old or something
