Sensory - the good and the bad?
What are your "I can't stand it" and "I really like it" for each sensory? (list 1 or 2, or more if you'd like)
(I don't think that I really have that many, I think that most of mine are considered "normal" dislikes or likes; I just really want to hear from everyone else)
Touch/feel:
- I cannot stand oils, creams, lotions, gels, ointments, etc. they just feel terrible and I make my skin raw or sometimes bleed trying to get them all the way off... (which leads to a lot of sun burns and occationally infections for me, since I can't bring myself to put on sunscreen or antibiotic cream.)
- (this is one that is not just related to AS) Shoes are uncomfotable foot prisons; I know I can't be the only one who thinks so.. I almost always go barefoot. luckily I live in a small town and everybody knows everybody, so they don't really mind if I go into the store or something bare foot...
- I really like the feel of sticking my hand in a tub of flax seed, or a big bag of m&ms. (or, if it was socially acceptable for me anymore, I used to love going to fast food places and going in the ball pit.)
- I really like having pressure or weight on me. (wearing a backpack just for the weight, sitting under water, etc. my little cousins get a kick out of it, if I lay on the couch they will all try and sit on my back)
Sound:
- the sound of people chewing with their mouth open, it makes me have "explosive anger", however, I very rarely ever eat with others, so that's not really a problem for me anymore.
- I really like the sound of kuckles cracking, and especially under water.. it's weird, I know. (under water it sounds a little different)
Sight:
- I really like dim light, but bright light doesn't bother me. According to my mother, I have very good eyesight in the dark..
- I think that the color pink is kind of upsetting to look at..? (I don't know how to describe it)
- I like gray.
Smell:
- Some smells make me want to puke.. there is some shampoo that is becoming more popular, but it smells terrible. and you can smell it from 10+ feet away.. It nearly kills me when I have to stand near or talk to someone with it. (I try to be polite, but I am told I make faces..)
- I like how horses smell a lot. (but just my luck, I have allergies to horses.)
Taste:
- I am very picky, I can taste the differences between iodized salt, kosher salt, and sea salt.. (I think that sea salt is by far the best)
- It is not JUST taste, but also texture.
- I hate peas, I can be polite and make myself eat them, but I am told I look like a cartoon and that I "turn green" and "look like your going to projectile vomit with each bite". (so maybe it's better that I just excuse myself from peas, rather than try to be polite.)
- I prefer salty to sweet.
I'm only going to list one or few for each as to not create a gargantuan wall of text.
----------Like----------
Vision - Pulsing/Beating objects such as speakers and lights
Hearing - Too vast to list, but one example would be this. I tend to prefer sound effects over music hence the style.. love my sound effects. ;P
Touch - Pressure such as hugs
Smell - Too vast to list, but bacon and any freshly baked deserts i.e. cupcakes are up there
Taste - I love a mix of savoury and salt (such as a pizza with anchovies/feta cheese), and while I like sweet things I can only tolerate so much of them, aside from fizzy drinks
----------Dislike----------
Vision - Bright sun light
Hearing - Too vast to list, one example would be my strong hate for music that has a chorus where all instruments aside from 1-2 drop out
Touch - A lot of clothes, sandles/thongs, slimy/dirty/messy/sticky things, sand, rapid winds, temperature changes, light or unexpected touch, night time sensations
Smell - Horrible body odors are the worst, such as bad breath
Taste - Can't tolerate spicy or bitter foods

Hate bright lights and stripes or zigzag lines - they mess with my eyes too much
I like to watch certain objects functioning/in motion and the way light reflects on metallic surfaces. That is probably why I end up spacing out at work so much. So many machines...
I like the way cold metal feels, the textures of knurled surfaces, splines, the silk-like smoothness of carbide cutting tools, threads and the striations left from turning or milling. I also like the way furs feel. I have recently taken up blacksmithing and enjoy the myriad of sounds associated with that as well.
I dislike microfibre because it feels like an insect latching on to your skin, particle board and carpet (feels like sand-paper).
I hate the taste of grease in my foods and almonds or walnuts make me want to puke on whoever tries to sneak them past me.
I do like yoghurt, cheese, cereal, and well-seasoned meats.
I dislike unpredictable sounds like people talking or crowds of people, dogs barking people slamming doors or car horns. Those need to be outlawed full-stop.
I like repetitive mechanical sounds. Again, spacing out at work is so easy.
The smell of body odour, bacon, rust prohibitive agents and some colognes and perfumes are horrible.
I tend to like earthy smells like cedar, pine, firewood burning and leather.
