Does this have something to do with Asperger's or something else? I can't stop talking. Only at home though, i'm quiet in school. I will say the most random things in the car that make absolutely no sense, such as "Light bulbs like green grass" or "I think pickles have jars", or something completely odd or random. And it feels like I need to talk, so I just make something up. I also have certain phrases I say commonly such as "Only on Tuesday", "Sedimentary Rocks", etc. What is this?

Its not a black and white line. Its more common in aspies than NTs, though.

I still don't know/understand all the terms, but that sounds like something like turrets and know people on the spectrum do that. Either saying the same thing over and over or saying random thing like you showed an example of. I do both and only certain times and places. And some autistic kids I went to school with did it to sometimes.

The other possibility is the disordered thought process of a schizophrenic...

I've heard aspies talk like that before. I don't do it, but I've heard it.

Someone with schizophrenia would say things like that, word salad as they say.

I looked up word salad, and world salad is when phrases are said that do not make sense, but the person saying it does NOT know that it doesn't make sense. I know that it makes absolutely no sense and I say it for fun. I have some tourette's traits so that may be it.

In Kanner's original paper on autism, he mentions several children saying these kinds of random things. It could be autistic trait. I say random things too, including in public when alone, which looks weird to others, or they think I am talking to them. My father does too.

Say random references to movies
and things all the time
irritates everyone and they are very irrelevant and spontaneous

So long as the phrases aren't offensive I don't think it's tourettes.

I used to do that when I was a kid. Luckily I've outgrown it.
