I know I'm very much a mess right now can't even walk.
Second time in 2 years I've had a therapist dump me. Last one(a guy) walked out got in his car and left. This one(female) told me I can't get an appointment for 2 months when it is a 2-3 week wait normally. I called 3 weeks in advance for more appointments.

Why have they just dumped you? Sounds very unprofessional to me.

I don't know I tried going to a psychiatrist this week and all he told me is he can't help me and that I need to be more social. I had 3 meltdowns that day and ended up being destructive and breaking stuff like my glasses.

Have to agree with jayjayuk on that. I can kinda relate. I called to schedule an appointment to speak with a therapist about autism evaluation about two months ago. I stopped in to sign some paperwork so their office could contact my previous therapists, but they haven't bothered to contact me again after that. Probably just as well though. Didn't know at the time how expensive psych assessment is and there's no way I could afford it...

Well I am diagnosed with Autism, Social anxiety, Severe Depression, transgender, edit: features of paranoid personality disorder, and avoidant personality disorder. The state has those on file and I have the reports.

Are you doing things like calling them for advice when you don't have an appointment that day or getting very upset when they say something you don't like or asking for their home phone numbers or personal email or always saying that whatever idea they have won't work for you and it's stupid? Those things can make a therapist give up on you.

She told me I can text her when in crisis and she gave me her cell phone number. Which is not everyday or every week even.. I've been following through on what she has recommended and had said she was stupid. Its more of like I need her advice too much I guess. Either which way it makes me really upset that I can't get the help that I need, and it puts me in fear of having a meltdown and something bad happening. She's continually batted around when I've asked for help with anger management.

Its not my fault it was a goal of her's to get me to stand up to issues rather than holding in but I have major issues controlling it. She's made up excuses before too that when I have a job I don't need therapy and she just quits talking to me and cancels my appointments even though she agreed to skype if I'm not local.

If I can't get help from a therapist where do I go?

Who said therapists were mature and professional?

Like a lot of people, they don't know how to "fire" their patients. They don't want to see you anymore, they can choose to stop seeing you, but there is a more professional way to handle it.

There are a lot of bad therapists out there. You have to keep trying out new ones. Fortunately you are in Dallas so there should be tons of therapists, unlike smaller towns. Think about what the issues are that you really want to work on, and look on the Internet for someone who specializes in that. If you have trauma in your past, you are going to have to build trust over many months before you will probably feel comfortable telling what happened to you. EMDR is great for post-traumatic stress disorder if you suffered abuse/trauma. Finally, your therapist must trust you in addition to you trusting them.

Are you the therapist is dumping you? Maybe you should call her or send her an email and ask why you have to wait for 2 months before getting another appointment. She might have a more legitimate reason for it.

I went to my 3rd to last appointment today, had a meltdown and walked out. We had gotten into an argument about her never scheduling me regularly. There is no reason for it. My parents are really angry too at her. Its not just me. She says she will get me in and when she's done that in the past it means nothing. She so call says she cares and will get me in. I won't believe her until she gives me appointment times for that month.

I think later today I may call MHMR since my vocational evaluation tester was referring me to them. I don't have much left.
