This may sound kind of odd but when you were a little kid, did the look of certain things actually scare you? This was the case for me when I was a little kid. I used to almost freak out whenever I saw a sunset because I thought the colors were so intense and it gave me kind of a spooky feeling. Insulators on power lines used to also scare me because they often had odd shapes that for some odd reason made me afraid to see them up close to the point I had nightmares. Other things included: street lights, florescent lights, and lightning. Did things like this or other things looks so odd or strange to you that you were scared to even look at them like me?

I can relate to you. I was scared of roof corners as a child because I could see some shapes I didn't like.

I totally relate but I think I have that issue more now than when I was little.

Yeah, when I was little I would always be scared of images on a TV or movie screen or certain sounds on the radio for instance.

I was scared of whiteface as a child-- clowns, mimes, movie zombies. That's not all that uncommon though. I can't really recall anything else. Oh wait...the photo of the lamprey eel in my 7th grade science book.

HOWEVER -- it has happened to me as an adult. A few years ago, I tried to watch the remake of Island of Lost Souls -- Island of Dr. Moreau, with Marlon Brando. When the little red guy showed up, he upset me so badly that I had a horrendous panic attack and had to go to bed. I still haven't tried to watch the movie again, because I'm concerned of that happening again. What's so weird is that he didn't DO anything weird or creepy. He just WAS.

Go as far as you can see. When you get there, you will see farther.

Certain appliances and machinery. Certain colors and textures of objects. I remember once when a street sweeper came by and i freaked out badly. florescent lights still bother me a lot, creep me out, whatever. all kinds of sights, sounds and smells no one else would be bothered by.

Sharp corners on furniture. I never let it interfere much with my life, but I had to make myself ignore them for a while until I got more comfortable with them.

For me as a child, there was a colourful rubber ball with spiky-looking bands sticking out all over it. It was just a fun toy, but to me at the time it was weird and suspicious.

In a grocery store, there was a banjo-playing electronic puppet that I found to be a tad creepy.

The fizz of pop scared me, and I still find it a little too painful to drink.

Strangely enough, Smarties (not the American kind that I call Rockets). They are similar to M&Ms, but I was never scared of M&Ms. It is the strangest thing. It is probably because the candy coating on Smarties is a little crunchier then on M&Ms. They smell different too.

The most horrifying thing to me was fireworks. The first time seeing and hearing them, I was too shocked to cry! 8O

For me it was concave mirrors, planar mirrors that faced each other and distorted faces. Those "smile train" ads still give me anxiety.
