I'm very lazy and I have a lot of brain fog. I've heard that nootropics can help with this. Should I try them out?

I wonder the same thing. My laziness and executive functioning deficits have actually been a major cause of depression for me since my early teens, and I've only really started to realize it recently.

I have been wondering about the same thing too (although I don't like that word much). "Brain fog" is something that I can relate too and I would be happy to find a way to fight here.

Unfortunately it is difficult to sort things out. If we start from the wikipedia page, some of those things are just expensive scams, some are not well researched and may or may not work, some are well known but limited in effect, and some are prescription drugs that might be dangerous to use without medical oversight. Most of them are expensive. And obviously, I expect the effects to vary much with the user. Did anyone experiment with anything interesting here ?

I don't think you should experiment with nootropics. Talk to your doctor about what your feeling! Maybe he has other ideas.

I'm getting very desperate. I'd rather die than be like this for the rest of my life.

Oh Devil Kisses, you stick around because you are valued and appreciated here. I know that feeling of despair when it seems things will never get better. I searched and searched and years went by, and it seemed as if there were no answers to my low state of mind and mood. Hopefully, it won't take you anything like as long as it took me.

I hope the breakthrough for you is going to happen very soon.

Could I suggest you google: "the edge effect quiz braverman" and take the quiz that comes up. It helps you identify which neurotransmitters are at a low level, and provides some useful suggestions about how to replenish them. If you choose to do this, please let me know how you get on.

I have ordered the book The Edge Effect by Eric Braverman. It hasn't arrived yet. I took the quiz and found a startling difference between the level of GABA (very deficient) and the others (all pretty good). I take GABA now and have been doing well. Wake up most mornings with a wonderful clear feeling in my mind. For a long time I thought the brain fog was because of the allergies I have, though diet/gluten free etc didn't help very much. I don't drink alcohol, so it wasn't caused by the toxic effects of drinking. It seemed to be an insoluble puzzle. However when you find the right answer for you - and you will! - it's like a brand new life.

And I am still grateful for you sharing the "one fact rule"! :)
