I'm currently reading "Babbitt" by Sinclair Lewis, and so far it seems like a brilliant glimpse into NT thinking.

The oblivious self-contradiction from one breath to the next, the incoherent thinking, the desperate socializing, the petty bullying (Babbitt is a classic "middle manager type", among other things)... it all fits.

Sad in a way, but I also broke out laughing a few times.

Poor old Babbitt. Poor old NTs.

And, of course, poor old us if we get under one of their thumbs... as we know, in the NT world, folks who are clever or different need to be put in their place, and the more belittlingly, publicly and frequently the better.

Some NT's are jerks. Some are nice....just like people with AS.

I do think, on the whole, the world is getting less tolerant of people with differences of any type.

Books are humorous because they take the grain of truth and extend it out of proportion.
