Autism, syndromical retardation and premature aging
To me it seems that some people on the autism spectrum regardless of healthy living look much older than their actual age, I think it has a connection with some syndromical retardations (not downs or williams) some of those they tend to be more developed facially and vocally and the ones with autism I know who look like that seem to have a retardation and they look weird, the ones with AS who seem more normal tend to look younger though because it seems most autistic people live healthy and avoid stuff like alcohol, there are some disorders where you age faster too I think and don't say genes play a part I know an autistic guy who barely has hair at age 24 (soon 25) and he looks his age if not a bit younger (PS IQ is something everyone has, a genius doesn't look younger or older and why should a person with an IQ of 20 and lower look different?).
I suspect you might just be noticing some anecdotal coincidences amongst the small group you personally know. I have not heard of any other findings like this (though happy to be proved wrong if someone else knows of some).
If you took another group you might not see this effect ...or you could happen to see other coincidences like women on the spectrum being taller or men who are high functioning having deeper voices etc.
Have you done any research online to see if researchers have noticed anything like this as well? That might be a good way to start figuring out if what you are seeing is a real effect or not.

OP,
are clearly ignorant of the low functioning spectrum if believe we have a tendency to look older because of our intelectual disability.
we actualy have a tendency to look younger.
intelectual disability does not cause physical differences either though someone born with physical differences may have intelectual disability.
aspies as a group do not live healthy and avoid alcohol;that is a big generalization, will need to lurk on WP more to see that alcohol is one of the most self medicated drugs amongst HFAs because it helps with their social side.

No I'm not ignorant I said that the ones I know with AS who seem more bright have a normal appearance but some of them look weird/ret*d and older somehow, at least their expression so there might be something more to them and IQ alone can't say something about appearance, there has to be some syndromical/chromosomical stuff to it and I haven't heard of someone taking alcohol to become more social I've taken several levels of alcohol and neither helped they just made me dumb and destructive, people with anxiety don't take alcohol to become social either, just for helping with the flirty side, WTH.
