I hope you're not mad at this

Seriously: People are always trying to interpret intentions in online writing, since one cannot see others' faces. I believe there are times that when one uses strong, opinionated language, it might be interpreted as meaning that he/she is angry--when, in fact, the person merely has a strong opinion.

It's happened to me a few times; more often, my facial expression/body language/whatever people think they are reading are thought to represent sadness/depression.

I am stark raving bonkers, people have every right to think I am mad.

On a serious note when I am mad people WILL know about it. People are often wrongly concerned about my mental state though, thinking I am down and depressed when I really am not.

People look at me in real life and say that I look mad or upset all the time when I'm not. There's a girl that asks me if I'm okay every time she sees me.

Yes. I just try and watch my tone. People can't seem to distinguish when I am frustrated, irritated, or mad and we are the ones who are supposed to have this problem.

Luckily no one ever asks me anymore what is wrong or to smile.

I've been told that I walk angry, and I look angry when I eat.

But when I'm actually mad about something, people don't take me seriously.

hell yeah, but a different kind of mad AKA crazy, when have ran away from care homes police have always said am seriously drunk, am mentaly ill or am on class A drugs-until they realised was wearing a nappy, was using makaton sign language and they saw the APB put out.
am visibly disabled/different so dont get that problem with the general public but cops must deal with a lot of similar behaviors from many different causes.

I don't know...? maybe walking too fast or putting my feet down hard or something. It was a friend in high school who told me that.

In person I get that as well as "whats wrong" when there is no problem.

This is the bane of my existence!

Yeah, it goes like this;

'No, I am not mad...if I were mad, I would tell you...geez, oversensitive much?'

A lot of people cannot tell the difference between 'serious' and 'angry'....I mean that's okay too, because we cannot tell the difference between truth and sarcasm...but we have the advantage there. :)

However, it does lead to other people going off at me for absolutely no reason (like my brother does), which leads me to ask 'what the hell did I do wrong now?'

Apparently, how you say something means a lot more than what you actually say....and I have never been able to figure that one out.

Suffice to say, I don't think scientists will ever come close to be able to create and form of 'artificial intelligence' that can mimic human thought processes...it would take an Aspie to program it. :p

So I pull my 'angry face' and I tell people...'look at this and remember it....this is my 'angry face', and unless my face looks like this, I am NOT angry!' *pulls angry face. lol

Yes, and the worst thing is, when they do, it makes me mad.

Are you mad?

Now I am!

This happened a lot when I was in my teens. People would ask me what's wrong when I felt fine. I said "Nothing", but they'd keep asking if there was something wrong, to the point that it annoyed me enough that I started actually getting angry. :?
