When people say aspergers makes you sensitive to certain sensations, tastes, etc, is that the kind of thing they mean?

Because I always thought it was weird, it was very repeatable, almost every time I ate it as a kid I would sneeze after the first spoonful as my palette adjusted to what always seemed like a very strong taste. But then after a second it would just be a normal chocolate taste and no sneezing and I could eat loads more without sneezing again until the next week or whenever.

Chocolate mousse does nothing for me but make me swoon in orgasmic delight.

However -- my whole life has been filled with my sneezing over things I'm sensitive to. For instance, I always believed that everyone sneezed and choked when they walked down the soap/detergent aisle at the grocery store. Turns out that it bothers very few people, but I can't even breathe on that aisle. My brother and I used to fight every morning because I would sneeze over and over again. I recently figured out that the dust burning on the heater coils was making me sneeze. The smell of perfume, cigarettes, garbage/trash can, oil or tires burning, urine, newsprint, house dust, and a host of other things will set me off.

Just remembered that the well water at my mother's house used to make me sneeze. Every time I got a glass of water, the first couple of swallows would do it. After that, I was OK, but it would happen every time. I live here and drink it every day so I finally am used to it.

Cool, I never expected to find anyone who sneezed for the exact same reason, but that sounds like me.

I sneeze every time I eat chocolate. I'm seriously thinking about having allergy testing done so I can find out what I'm allergic to.

Same here!

The photic sneeze reflex (also known as photoptarmosis, colloquially known as "sun sneezing") is a condition of uncontrollable sneezing in response to numerous stimuli, such as looking at bright lights or periocular (surrounding the eyeball) injection. The condition affects 18?35% of the population, but its exact mechanism of action is not well understood. (from Wikipedia, so not sure how accurate that is)

Oh I just read that some people sneeze suddenly in response to very cold things entering their mouths, or very strong tastes (like mint they said). I'd say this is an unusual thing in that it doesn't happen to most people, but it seems that it can happen to people not on the spectrum (1 in 4 people have it according to my researching).

Chocolate in general tends to make me sneeze for some reason. I could never figure out exactly why.

Dust makes me sneeze sometimes, if there's a lot of it flying around.
