i need some kid friendly books on autism and need some suggestions.

You should read all of Temple Grandin's works.

Inside Asperger's Looking Out, by Kathy Hoopmann. A picture of a raccoon on the cover which is neat, and she starts with sensory issues which I think is a good choice.

The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome - Tony Attwood

More clinical, but probably the most valuable.

Asperger's from the inside out - Michael John Carley

Very good read about going through the diagnosis/realization phases.

Look me in the eye - John Elder Robison

More of an autobiography, quite the captivating & entertaining read.

I really like All Cats Have Aspergers too. It's a picture book that describes some characteristics of autism.

Autism Asperger Publishing Company(AAPC) has tons of various types of children's books. I hav flipped through some of them at a conference I went to and they seemed like they could be good, but I can't tell you for sure since I didn't actually read them.

I liked Born on the Wrong Planet Erika Hammerschmidt. It's not a kids book, but I read it when I was around your age. It's an autobiography that is a bunch of short stories about her life.
