I'm thinking of starting a YouTube channel to express myself, talk about struggles with Aspergers and post my own random homemade videos.

So it got me thinking, how many of you guys and gals post on YouTube? Do you enjoy it?

I've followed lots of YouTubbers for awhile and recently I started watching lots of people with Aspergers and sharing their experiences. So it got me interested.

That's a great idea! You will help others (like me) who aren't yet diagnosed. I have found there aren't so many older Aspies doing You Tube videos and even less female Aspies. It would be nice to have a catalogue of symptoms that can help others recognise it in themselves or people they know, because often, you aren't really aware you have it unless someone points it out.

If I were to get diagnosed, I'm not sure if I would post on You Tube, since I'm quite shy about it, but I'd be happy to blog about it.

I have wanted to, but I'm so camera shy that I never have. I have a couple of gaming videos on my channel, a couple of videos of my dogs, a couple about global warming and whatever other subjects I wanted to express myself about, but none of them where I'm talking to the camera.
I have a video from GTA3 that has about 1,000 views, (that's the most views any of my videos have) but the rest of my videos have a lot less than that, and I've had them up for years.

There are so many haters on youtube that I'm scared to put up a video showing my face.

I posted a video of my "Cars" fiber optic lamp changing colors a few years ago, but that's it.

Let us know if you do Cheeba, I will subscribe. Myself I don't post my own videos, I am too shy for this, but I follow Miyah's vlog on youtube, she is a member of WP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5zY3PYAHIo (she posted something about her vlog here the other day but I can't remember the title of the message).

I do but all I get when I try to film videos these days is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7lcuiF1ew0

I used to do talkies but I find I drone on a bit unless I am making silly voices or similar, then people seem to think I am on drugs. No I am just quirky.

I mostly just compile play lists on there now rather than upload my own stuff.

i have 128 videos on my youtube page, all but 2 of which i created. my most popular video is a simple one of me accelerating my mercedes (in real life) to 170 kph. it is mindless, but it is the most popular with 96,000 views. most of my videos however only receive a few views.

one thing that astounds me is the shortness of peoples attention spans. i posted a 13 minute clip of me driving a virtual 1959 stock standard cadillac around a track, and i thought the entire clip was very engaging, but when i checked the statistics of who else had viewed the clip, i found that their average view duration was only 25 seconds.

it is the same for my fractal animations. they rarely go for more than 2 minutes, but the average view duration for those clips is about 15 seconds.

have you ever expressed any enthusiastic interest in finding out how to do the things that you lament that you can not do?
i do not suppose that you can have a youtube account that is based on a library's isp address. i do think you could download music, but what good is music if you can not contribute to it and give it back somehow?

people are mostly interested in physical appearances and if you do not show yourself in your channel, then most of the people who only care about what you look like will move on, and only the people who understand what you are on about will stick around. if i had acid thrown on my face i would suddenly look very inferior to what i presently look like, and if my fan base was composed of those that liked my face, then they would disappear despite the fact that i still would say the same types of things that they thought they found admirable when they liked my face (before i had acid thrown on it or was exposed to a fire).

i know it would be very hard for you ASS-P. how much do you have to give? how valuable do you think it is? i am not talking materially. if i was in your situation, i would never be able to rest until i found a way out of it. how can you live the way you do? i guess i admire your strength because if i had to sleep in parks that were patrolled by police that fined people for sleeping there, then i may not survive for long because my ODD would invite a lethal reaction from anyone who had a problem with me just standing in a random place in the world. it is a shame that you can not come to australia to live. there are very many itinerant people who live in caves near sydney and they have a peaceful and happy lifestyle because no one wants to bother them. they get disability pensions and they can afford to live a comfortable life (with no trappings) without intervention or bother.

america seems to have too many people in it. no body really matters because there are 300 million of them, and so each person is 1 300 millionth of the population. how insignificant is that?

i also am insignificant in the scheme of things being 1 25 millionth of our population.

but everyone alive is seated firmly in their own consciousness and they have a firm and crystal clear concept of their concept of "me-nesss", and they have little concept of how dilute that sentiment really is (considering it is shared by everyone (animal and human) alive).

who knows? i am not good at philosophy on a non subjective level.

"good luck" i guess is the only thing i can think of to say with any genuineness even though it seems like a platitude.

..B.riefly , I have a YT account or two , technically speaking , but I have never uploaded anything up , even a recording (which might be more what I'd be inclined to ~ or an odd/interesting film ~ before I started , I think , putting up my face talking , though I might eventually do that) ~ I could " contribute some " , even in my position , IF I COULD GET SOME HELP  .
I do have a low-level (" pay-as-you-go") smartphone though at this time I can hardly figure out anything to do with it  .

hmmmm... if there is nothing on your page then it is difficult for me to form an opinion to the contrary of "why bother"

yeah i do not think you have any instruments or permanent places of abode that would be conducive to well received uploads (not that i can talk about that but i can try).

sometimes a snapshot of the de-cryer is very valuable in the advertising campaign and may attract many sympathetic people to your cause. you really need it. a simple person who is in distress due to the mechanations of the rules of society is always fondly considered by more lucky people. i am in a different country than you so again i have no idea how americans would respond to it.

As far as even pictures , let alone videos by me - I SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO MIT .
I am going to bed now (still at the nursing home)
Perhaps we can say more later . Thank you .

I've posted several videos on YouTube, but none of them are about ASD, there mostly about electrical engineering
