You will probably say there is no 'such' thing but are there certain 'foods' out that can improve aspergers?

Only assburgers make aspies happy and that's an improvement to the mostly whiny aspies. :)

Just generally eating foods that are healthy (low in calories and high in nutrition; like, for example: Fresh, homegrown sprouts) can help. Don't forget to get some exercise, too. There's nothing like being healthy to help you cope with life! :)

No.

At this point, it is thought that Autistic Spectrum Disorders are caused by a combination of genes that lead to the nerve trunks in the Autistic Spectrum Individual's brain taking different paths from those of the NTs around us.

As such, there are no foods that will help with cognitive issues associated with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

HOWEVER... there are issues of the gut that are common with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and tending to those issues can help with discomfort which can exacerbate things...

I wrote about that HERE

Yes....it's been scientifically proven that candy and ice cream are extremely therapeutic to autistic kids. Or so I keep telling my parents :P

Seriously though, that was looked into and tried on me in various ways. types of food has no effect on my autism what so ever.

A well balanced diet will make you feel healthier so in that sense yes. Herbs ans spices are beyond powerful. Turmeric is actually AS effective as prozac for depression apparently. Cinnamon levels out blood sugar. So in those two you have chemical agents which could help with depression and hyperactivity to a degree. Food can help lessen the severity of comorbids

If I eat healthily, I'm happy, energetic, clear-headed and autistic.
If I eat badly, I'm grumpy, sluggish, foggy-brained and autistic.

Are you trying to kill us? Want us to eat the nasty tasting with horrid texture foods and exercise as well. Sounds like instant depression to me!!

I wish I had known about the gluten connection 10 years ago. Could have saved myself a lot of suffering. Did not improve my Autism though, not in the least, just my "IBS."
